It is one of the ancient knowledge systems originated in the Indus Valley near the Himalayan Ranges in India. It is an ancient wisdom which guides people to live a healthy & harmonious life.

According to archaeological references & references found in ancient Indian Scripts, age of Yoga is approximately 5000-6000 yrs  & applicability of Yoga till date confirms that it is a science.

We have tried to understand most of things about Yoga so far so I think this is the time to shortlist the benefits of Yoga.

On physical level:

1.  Improves functions of muscles -Yogasanas (Yoga postures) involve contraction of some muscle groups & relaxation of muscles which have opposite action to that of contracted muscles. This alternate contraction & relaxation of various groups of muscles & their antagonists improve circulation & tone of these muscles.
